MOSS 2007 - CSS Crackers!

November 20, 2007 10:08 by aidan
There is a  nasty gotcha in MOSS SharePoint CSS registration. It doesn't matter what order you register your css files, they will be rendered in the html in alphabetical order! Not very helpful...

so then you can use the !important statement to overwrite properties that might exist in other files...

You could do that but ordering the css alphabetically seems to go against the usual standard and could cost people a significant amount of time figuring it out. Now I am aware of it I can work around it even though it isn't ideal.

Not to mention core.css is always referenced last I believe which makes conflicting custom styles a little trickier...
